Do You Want to Stay Home with the Kids?

Many moms start businesses out of their home.  Often this is a way for them to supplement their home income without working outside of their home and putting their children into daycare.  That’s how I began selling Barefoot Books!  Take a moment to read more about my journey, how you can sell great children’s books, and how I can help you succeed.

Why Barefoot Books?

First I fell in love with the books.  So many children’s books today are published with the express purpose of driving children to watch more television.  Books about television characters and with little knowledge to impart don’t make the grade in our household.  Classic storylines, beautiful illustrations, books that inspire imaginations – that’s the kind of library I want to provide for my children.  Barefoot Books are all of these things!

Then I fell in love with the business opportunity.  While there are some small guidelines, running a Barefoot Books business is more flexible than most direct sales companies.  How I market and the direction my business takes is my choice alone.  Also, you can begin with a commission of 50% through a stock order ($250 out of pocket).  There is no cost for the “opportunity”.  While you may wish to buy an order book ($5) and a few business cards, everything out of pocket goes directly towards inventory.  I felt like this gave me less risk.  I also liked that there was a lack of hype surrounding it.  No one promised me “easy millions”.

I’ve been selling Barefoot Books for over a year, and in 2010 I was in the top 3 sales people in North America.  I am also a Christian stay at home mom.  Balancing work and life is very important, and I strive to live my life and run my business ethically and with Christian values.  I would love to sponsor you, and give you support so you have the best chance of succeeding.  I have a lot of internet/IT experience.  Prior to my time at home with the children, I spent almost a decade in different IT roles.
